USPS Invites Media to a Behind-the-Scenes Package Processing Tour

Package Processing Tour

What:

Media representatives are invited for a behind-the-scenes look at mail processing during our most rewarding time of the year. With this being the Postal Service’s busiest mailing and shipping week (Dec. 12-17), this is a great opportunity for news outlets to capture some mail and package processing B-roll for your holiday news stories.

When:

Thursday, Dec. 15
8:00 p.m.

Where:

Manasota Processing & Distribution Center
850 Tallevast Road
Sarasota, FL 34260

Parking is available in the employee parking lot on left side of building.
Call David Walton at (407) 607-8741 when you arrive.

Please be aware that you will be entering our processing facility and proper footwear is required. Please avoid heeled shoes and pumps. Ensure that you are wearing closed-toed shoes (preferably leather) that are non-slip.

Who:

Santa Claus and his Postal Service helpers will be onsite for interviews.

Watch holiday cards and letters being processed for delivery, and marvel at the Automated Delivery Unit Package Sorter (ADUS) which can process 3,500 parcels per hour. The Sarasota plant processes mail for the 337, 338 and 342 ZIP Code ranges.
