Manages USPS Services in Palmetto and Terra Ceia
PALMETTO, FL — "I’m excited for this opportunity”, says the newly-appointed Palmetto Postmaster Marlon English. He oversees 53 employees at Palmetto Post Office, which has 28,000 deliveries. He also manages the Terra Ceia Post Office.
English joined the Postal Service in 2006. He served in the Army Reserves from 2003 to 2013 and was deployed to Iraq in 2009 and 2010. Prior to joining USPS, he worked as a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
"I started my postal career as a Part Time Flexible City Carrier at Canarsie Station in Brooklyn, NY," English says. Before becoming a postmaster, he served as a supervisor, manager, and acting postmaster at various offices.
"In the military, one of the core values that I learned was selfless service. Working at the Postal Service, I take pride in providing great customer service to the public," he says.
"One way that I am Delivering for America is by helping to promote the Postal Service brand in the public eye. Customers want reliable and consistent service," he says. "Every day, I work with my employees to provide that service to meet the customers’ needs."
Marlon and his wife Niesha have two children: Natori and Marlon Jr. When not at the office, he enjoys playing softball, reading James Patterson books, playing with his children, and gardening with his wife.
"I love everything about the Postal Service. Applying at the Postal Service was the best decision I have ever made,” he says. “I encourage others to consider working for the USPS, too."
