Background:
Falonda Woods began her postal career in 1999, as a PTF City Letter Carrier in Port Arthur, TX. Throughout her career, she embraced the spirit of versatility, diving headfirst into cross-functional development, working in a variety of positions in mail processing, safety, and customer service operations. In 2016, she embarked on a new journey as the Postmaster of Tyler, TX. She later served an executive detail as OIC in Fort Worth, TX. Woods determination and willingness to accept various roles of increasing responsibility was instrumental in her advancement within the organization. She held several other detail assignments in mail processing, human resources, and Post Office Operations. She served an executive detail as Manager, Delivery Programs Support for the Southern Area. Woods is a proud veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of multiple USPS leadership development programs. Since May 2021, she has served as the Postmaster of Atlanta, GA. Each chapter of her career has been a testament to her unwavering passion for growth and commitment to excellence.
As Jacksonville Postmaster, Woods oversees retail and delivery operations for the largest city by landmass (more than 840 square miles) in the contiguous U.S. A dedicated force of 1,145 employees serves customers at 23 facilities throughout Jacksonville, delivering on a total of 704 delivery routes.
