SUWANNEE, FL — The U.S. Postal Service is considering the potential relocation of retail operations from the Suwannee Main Post Office located at 23252 SE Highway 349, Suwannee, FL 32692 to a new, yet-to-be determined location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing Post Office location. The relocation is being considered because the building is damaged beyond repair.

The Postal Service will continue retail services at the Old Town Post Office located at 26164 SE Highway 19, Old Town, FL 32680 until the new post office is up and running.

Suwannee Main Post Office customers have been notified about the potential relocation through a postcard in the mail and will have the opportunity to provide comments regarding the proposal.

We are inviting customers to send their comments on the proposal to the following address.  Comments must be received by March 14, 2026.

After the comment period, the Postal Service will consider the comments received.  Following that consideration, the Postal Service will make a final decision to proceed with, modify, or cancel the proposal.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
