JACKSONVILLE, FL — The U.S. Postal Service recently welcomed employees to an event celebrating the opening of the Jacksonville, FL Sorting and Delivery Center (SDC). The special event offered employees a first look at the Postal Service’s latest investments to increase operational precision, improve service performance and enhance its workplaces.
The modernized Jacksonville, FL SDC is one of 151 recently launched sorting and delivery centers across the nation, reaching more than 22 million people. SDCs are a culmination of the cultural change transforming the Postal Service, focused on innovation, collaboration, problem-solving and competition.
As the nation’s end-to-end carrier of choice, more than $19.8 billion in investments have been made to revitalize the Postal Service’s national processing, transportation and delivery networks.
This sweeping operational overhaul to modernize the unrivaled USPS mail and package network is a core component of the organization’s journey to success. Improved facility conditions ensure long-term improvements in service performance and employee morale through better flow and improved productivity.
