The U.S. Postal Service is seeking employees for various positions --- Automotive Technician, City Carrier, Rural Carrier Associate, and Sales, Services/Distribution Associate --- reporting to various South Florida locations.

Automotive Technician (Miami)
Starting annual salary: $66,836

The U.S. Postal Service is hiring qualified fulltime automotive technicians to perform both routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles in the postal fleet. They troubleshoot and diagnose more complex vehicle malfunctions, including:

• Diagnosing vehicles and perform operational checks on engines, major supporting systems, parts and components
• Performing various computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment
• Preparing and updating vehicle records, annotating labor time, and managing work orders
• Conducting visual and auditory vehicle inspections, road calls and road tests

City Carrier (Key West)
Starting salary: $26.36 per hour (paid bi-weekly)

A city carrier delivers and collects mail on foot or by vehicle under varying road and weather conditions in a prescribed area, maintains professional and effective public relations with customers and others, requiring a general familiarity with postal laws, regulations, products, and procedures commonly used, and with the geography of the area. This employee may be required to carry mail weighing up to 35 pounds in a shoulder satchel or other equipment and to load or unload containers of mail weighing up to 70 pounds.

Rural Carrier Associate (Homestead & Summerland Key)
Salary: $21.89 per hour (paid bi-weekly)

A rural carrier associate delivers and collects packages along routes in rural areas during weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This employee also will provide a variety of services (selling stamps and money orders as examples) to customers and may be required to use their own personal vehicle. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy staying active and working independently outdoors with occasional customer interactions.

Sales, Services/Distribution Associate (Key West and Miami Gardens)
Starting annual salary: $57,274

This employee performs distribution and a variety of sales and customer support services for products and maintains pleasant and effective public relations with customers and others, requiring general familiarity with postal laws, regulations, and procedures commonly used.

At the post office retail counter, this employee may maintain sufficient inventory of and sell stamps, stamped paper, other retail products, passport acceptance, and other retail services; may use a computerized system, accepting and delivering packages and accountable mail; issuing and cashing foreign and domestic postal money orders; accepting and responding to customer claims and inquiries,   and providing information to the public regarding postal regulations.
