ATLANTA, GA — The U.S. Postal Service is considering relocation of the retail services provided at the Midtown Station, 107 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30309, to a yet-to-be determined location within .5 mile from the current location.
The Postal Service is considering this relocation because the lease at the Midtown location is expiring and a new lease agreement was unable to be reached.
Traditionally, the Postal Service would set up a public meeting to discuss the potential relocation, explain the process and invite questions from the community. But with the pandemic impacting communities, the usual process of holding a community meeting to discuss the planned relocation would be a risk to our employees and customers.
Instead, the Postal Service is inviting customers to send their written comments on the proposal to the following address:
Attn: Atlanta Midtown Station Relocation
United States Postal Service
P.O. Box 27497
Greensboro, NC 27498-1103
After the 30-day comment period, the Postal Service will consider the comments received that identify reasons why the Postal Services tentative decision and proposal is, or is not, the optimal solution for the identified need. Following that consideration, the Postal Service will make a final decision to proceed with, modify, or cancel the proposal. All related materials are posted in the Everglades City Post Office lobby.
Midtown customers will also be notified about the potential relocation through a postcard in the mail.
