Jackson to take Oath of Office on Dec. 8
Rickayla Jackson will be officially installed as the Americus Postmaster at the Sumter County Agriculture Center, 127 William Bowen Pointe, Americus, GA 31719 on Dec. 8 at 1:00 p.m.
The brief installation program will feature the administration of the Postmaster’s Oath of Office to Ms. Jackson by USPS Manager of Post Office Operations Nick James.
Jackson replaces former Americus Postmaster Clinton Bryant, who moved on to another postmaster position in Albany, GA.
As Americus Postmaster, Jackson supervises 36 postal employees at the Americus Post Office and the daily distribution of mail to 979 PO Boxes and more than 13,622 addresses on 21 delivery assignments.
Jackson is a 7-year postal employee who previously served as a Postmaster at the Georgetown Post Office.
“My goal is to provide outstanding customer service to the communities served by the Americus Post Office and to contribute to the overall success of the Postal Service,” said Jackson. “As outlined in our USPS Delivering for America plan, we’re modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of our customers. I’m very much aware of the vital role we play in connecting neighbors and the community to the nation.”
Jackson studied a year of pre-law at Georgia University and two years of Criminal Justice in Fort Valley State University. She currently resides in Kathleen, GA. She enjoys shopping, decorating, traveling and spending time with her grandbaby Avani.
She recently moved back to the area and endeavors to seek community involvement and volunteer work with youth mentorship programs and shelters.
