Beginning Wednesday, March 1, 2023, P.O. Box customers of the Mountain City Post Office may pick up their P.O. Box mail at the Rabun Gap Post Office. P.O. Box mail service will be available during regular retail hours at the Rabun Post Office, which are Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Post Office is closed on Sunday.
Mountain City P.O. Box customers will keep their current P.O. Box number and ZIP Code (30562) and no changes are needed regarding their mailing address. Customers picking up P.O. Box mail will need to provide a valid photo identification when retrieving their mail. The Postal Service is communicating these changes with P.O. Box customers via letter and signage is posted to further provide information on this shift.
Delivery service is not affected and will continue uninterrupted. Customers with regular street delivery will now pick up packages or other accountable items at the Clayton Post Office.
The U.S. Postal Service apologizes for this inconvenience to our customers. More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s website, www.usps.com, to get the location of other nearby Post Offices and approved postal retail service providers.
