Will Oversee all USPS Facilities from Hawaii Kai to Pearl Harbor
What:
The new postmaster for the city of Honolulu will be officially installed at a special ceremony by the U.S. Postal Service’s Hawaii District manager.
As Honolulu Postmaster, Kevin Nakaoka will supervise more than 600 employees and the operations of the 18 U.S. Postal Service facilities located in Honolulu. Those facilities range from Hawaii Kai to Pearl Harbor, including the Main Post Office near the Daniel Inouye International Airport.
“I’m proud and honored to step into this position and to be able to serve Honolulu, the community in which I was born,” said Nakaoka. “I hope to continue the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service to this community, to increase the office’s engagement with our customers, and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.”

Background:
The brief installation ceremony will be followed by light refreshments and a meet and greet with the new Honolulu postmaster.
Nakaoka is a 24-year postal employee who began his career as a mail carrier at the Kapalama Post Office and most recently served as the manager of operation integrations for the USPS Hawaii District office.
He was born in Honolulu and raised in Mililani. Nakaoka is a graduate of Mililani High School and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His primary hobby is spending time with his family, including his three children.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
