Waimanalo Post Office to Host Passport Fair on Saturday, Mar. 18

Event is First Step for Those Planning International Summer Travel

What:

The Waimanalo Post Office is hosting a Passport Fair at which postal employees will accept applications for new U.S. passports.

“My postal clerks and I are coming into the office on a Saturday to help customers who want to get a head start on their international summer travel plans,” said Waimanalo Postmaster Edean Sua.

“Now that COVID-19 concerns have declined and nations are welcoming back travelers, many Oahu residents are eager to get out and see the world.

For anyone planning to travel internationally this summer, the first step is to get a passport. We’ll be here on Mar. 18 to help them with that.”

Background:

Customers can register for this event by calling 808-259-0234. Space is limited. Walk-in customers with completed paperwork will be accommodated only if time permits.

Applicants are advised to complete their DS-11 application for a new passport in advance, print it and bring it unsigned to the event with an acceptable passport photo, fees, and documents. For this special Passport Fair event, passport application fees must be paid by checks. Neither cash nor credit or debit cards will be accepted.

The Passport Agency reminds travelers to submit their passport applications as early as possible, far in advance of planned travel to avoid problems with receiving their passports.
