Dog Bite Prevention and Customer Appreciation Event

CENTERVILLE, IA — In association with National Dog Bite Prevention Week, the Centerville, IA Post Office hosted a customer appreciation event to help promote dog bite prevention on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Employees brought in goodies for customers. Coloring pages were provided to elementary children to participate in a coloring contest. Middle school-aged kids were encouraged to participate in a dog bite prevention poster contest. Dog bite prevention tips were also handed out.  Even Sparky, the Centerville Fire Station dog, joined in the fun!

“There was a lot of good discussion,” Postmaster Annette Kane stated. “Everyone was very surprised by the total number of dog incidents in Iowa both last year and year to date.”

Coloring pages and posters will be accepted through Saturday.
