Postal Service Emergency Suspends Rodney IA Post Office

RODNEY, IA – On January 10, 2020, the Rodney Post Office located at 120 Main Street was emergency suspended due to health and safety concerns.

To ensure we continue providing uninterrupted service to our customers, retail services have been temporarily relocated to the Smithland Post Office located at 207 South Hickory Street in Smithland, IA. Retail hours at the Smithland facility are:

7:30AM – 11:30AM M-F
7:00AM – 9:00AM Sa

Post Office Box mail will continue to be delivered to the cluster box units already in use.  Packages and notice left items may be picked up at the Smithland Post Office with proper photo identification during the hours listed above.

Retail services are also available online 24/7 including weekends and holidays at usps.com.

The Rodney Post Office is a leased facility. The Postal Service will do everything possible to continue providing uninterrupted service to the community while emphasizing the safety of our employees and customers as our first priority. At this time, it is unknown when services will resume at the Rodney facility.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
