U.S. Postal Service Customer Award Winners Announced

TYME of Bellevue, IA recognized for their innovation and industry best practices

WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) recognized TYME, of Bellevue, IA, as one of 14 national award winners for innovation and industry best practices. The awards were presented during the Postal Service’s Areas Inspiring Mail Meeting held virtually June 4.

Western Area’s Shipping and eCommerce Innovation Award was presented to TYME,the inventore of a cutting edge titanium hair curler and straightening iron. Launched in 2014, this top-of-the-line styling tool is the centerpiece of the TYME Beauty Brand, which continues to expand and is recognized as a global brand.

TYME ships exclusively with USPS. The company continues to innovate by designing packaging that is compatible with postal pricing structures to ship single irons and modify costs,  allowing the company to provide more value to its customers

USPS presented awards in two categories: the Mailing and Digital Innovation Award, recognizing customers who demonstrate creativity by finding new methods of using mail to drive significant business results and mail growth; and the Shipping and eCommerce Innovation Award, honoring customers who have used industry best practices to implement new technologies to maximize efficiencies, and to convert requests for purchase and fulfillment into package orders and deliveries. There were two winners in each of the Postal Service’s seven geographic areas across the nation: Capital Metro, Eastern, Great Lakes, Northeast, Pacific, Southern and Western.

The Mailing and Digital Innovation Award winners were:

  • Eastern: ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN;
  • Capital Metro: Washington College, Chestertown, MD;
  • Great Lakes: Kiwanis, International, Indianapolis, IN;
  • Northeast: Simplisafe, Inc., Boston, MA;
  • Pacific: GUESS?, Inc., Los Angeles, CA;
  • Southern: Valpak Direct Marketing Systems, Inc, St. Petersburg, FL; and
  • Western: Oregon Humane Society, Portland, OR.

The Shipping and eCommerce Innovation Award winners were:

  • Eastern: Gordon Companies, Inc., Cheektowaga, NY;
  • Capitol Metro: The William Carter Company, Atlanta, GA;
  • Great Lakes: Babbitt’s Sports Center, Muskegon, MI;
  • Northeast: DribbleUp, Inc., Franklin Square, NY;
  • Pacific: BlendJet, Concord, CA;
  • Southern: PetMed Express, Inc., Delray, FL; and
  • Western: TYME, LLC, Bellevue, IA.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
