The United States Postal Service Offers Job Opportunities for the Holiday mailing season

Clerks, Mail Handlers, and Carriers needed

DES MOINES, IA — Iowa’s largest mail-sorting centers are gearing up for the busy holiday mailing season by offering temporary employment at the Network Distribution Center (NDC), located at 4000 109th St. in Urbandale, the Des Moines Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC), located at 1165 2nd Ave and the Des Moines P&DC Annex, located at 4000 109th Street in Urbandale.

Approximately 200 temporary holiday positions are available in the Des Moines area, with 120 positions available throughout the Hawkeye District. The temporary positions of Postal Support Clerk and Casual Mailhandler are for the period of November 7, 2020 through January 1, 2021. These positions earn competitive hourly wages from $16.55 - $18.15 with additional premium for hours worked between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., with varying shifts and days off.

USPS also has City Carrier Assistant and Rural Carrier Associate openings throughout the Hawkeye District, which includes most of Iowa and the Quad-City communities in Illinois. The appointments are for 360 days with the possibility of additional appointments. The hourly wage is $17.29 - $18.56 with limited benefits. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
