Operations at the Homedale Post Office to Temporarily Move to Wilder

Mail Delivery will continue uninterrupted in the Homedale area; Post Office Boxes being installed at Wilder Post Office for Homedale PO Box customers

HOMEDALE, ID — Operations at the Homedale, ID Post Office will be temporarily suspended due to safety concerns with the electrical system, which needs to be upgraded.

Beginning Oct. 12, all operations at the Homedale Post Office will be temporarily moved to the Wilder Post Office at 109 5th St. until such time as the electrical work is completed.

Mail delivery will continue uninterrupted to the Homedale area, however, customers will need to pick up any notice-left mail or packages at the Wilder Post Office. The Postal Service will temporarily install Post Office Boxes in Wilder to make it easier for Homedale Post Office Box customers to pick up their mail. Homedale customers will continue to use their same address, including Post Office Box number, city and ZIP Code. The blue collection box in Homedale will continue to be picked up as scheduled.

Homedale Post Office Box customers will need to pick up the key to their Post Office Box at the Wilder Post Office. Customers are reminded to bring photo identification when doing so. Retail hours at the Wilder Post Office are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number at the Wilder Post Office is 208-482-6525.

It’s important to note that USPS customers don’t have to visit a Post Office to conduct most transactions. Customers may buy stamps and ship packages through their rural carrier, also known as a Post Office on Wheels. Customers may also order Stamps by Mail (available at Post Offices or ask your carrier for a form), Stamps by Phone, 1-800-STAMP-24 (800-782-6724), and the 24/7 online Post Office at usps.com where they can buy stamps, print postage-paid shipping labels and more.

In addition to the Wilder Post Office, other nearby USPS retail locations include:

  • Marsing Post Office, 210 W Main St. – Open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and
    2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Greenleaf Post Office, 21344 Main St. – Open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and noon to
    3 p.m.

“The safety of our employees and customers is paramount,” said Post Office Operations Manager Brandon Roundy. “We will temporarily suspend operations in Homedale and move them to the Wilder Post Office so the electrical system can be upgraded. The Postal Service plans to reopen the Homedale Post Office once it’s safe to do so. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers, and we will keep them updated on any changes and progress.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
