Mail Collection in Boise Area on July 15 Tax Day ends at 8 p.m. Customers Encouraged to Use Self-Service Kiosk until Midnight

What:

As in recent years, all Southern Idaho Post Offices will maintain regular customer service hours and collection times on Tax Day, July 15, 2020. The latest collection time on July 15 in the Boise area is the mail processing and distribution facility, where tax returns can be dropped off until 8:00 p.m. (see list of locations below).

The following Post Offices in the Boise area have Self-Service Kiosks. If printed before midnight, customers will receive a mail label with a July 15 postmark. Self-Service Kiosks are available 24 hours, and only accept debit or credit cards.

Background:

Customers are encouraged to mail their tax returns early in the day, and check the collection times on each box to ensure pick up on July 15. Correct postage is a must. First-Class letter-size postage is 55 cents for the first ounce and 20 cents for each additional ounce. If you use a larger envelope, First Class postage is $1.00 up to the first ounce and 20 cents for each additional ounce. Customers wanting certification that their tax forms are received by the IRS, should mail them using Certified Mail Service.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
