USPS now hiring

SALT LAKE CITY, UT —Gearing up for what is anticipated to be a record-breaking holiday season for packages, the Postal Service is currently hiring more than 300 seasonal employees to work at processing centers and Post Offices across Utah and Southern Idaho.

The hourly wages range from $16.21 to $18.56 with varying shifts and days off. While most of the positions are seasonal, some are longer term positions that may lead to full-time career opportunities with the U.S. Postal Service.

“Joining the Postal Service as a seasonal employee is a win-win for everyone.” said USPS District Manager Michael Mirides. “Seasonal employees can quickly earn extra income while considering future career opportunities, which is great for them, great for the Postal Service and great for our customers.”

The Postal Service also looks to recent retirees, inviting letter carriers, clerks and motor vehicle operators who have retired within the last few years to come back and help deliver the important holiday letters and packages to postal customers.

Those interested may apply at https://about.usps.com/careers/, click on “Search Jobs.” An explanation of specific job requirements and hourly pay can be found on the individual job postings. Job openings will be regularly updated until all positions are filled.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma. Applicants must be able to pass drug screening, criminal background and any other applicable Postal Service test.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
