Postal Service Delivers Through the Last Summer Vacation
Informed Delivery always on duty, even if you’re away
CHICAGO, IL — While many Americans are enjoying the last month of summer by taking a vacation before school starts, the United States Postal Service is always on duty. Whether customers have their mail on a vacation hold or have a neighbor picking it up for them, Informed Delivery helps residential customers preview their incoming mail.
Informed Delivery bridges the digital and physical. The free feature allows users to digitally preview their incoming mail and manage their packages — wherever, whenever — from a computer, tablet or mobile device.
One word: Convenience. Eleven million customers already access the free notification service which provides digital outside images of letter-sized mail destined for your home via a daily email or through informeddelivery.usps.com. These images are also accessible on the Informed Delivery online dashboard and mobile app.
Informed Delivery allows users to track packages, too. If USPS Tracking is available for an incoming package, a consumer can view the delivery status in their Informed Delivery emails. Additionally, they can manage notifications and schedule redelivery from the Informed Delivery dashboard.
Businesses can add interactive content to Informed Delivery emails. When a consumer clicks on this content, he or she will be taken to the company’s website to receive offers, coupons or to learn more about the firm’s products and services.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
