Palatine Post Office Hosts Media Open House at Job Fair; Lakeland District is Hiring for Peak Season

USPS personnel will share professional experiences and insights

What:

On Monday, September 9, you are invited to attend a media open house. The Palatine Post Office is hosting a Peak Season job fair Monday through Friday, September 9 - 13, 10am-3pm. Postal personnel will be available for interviews.

The U.S. Postal Service is hiring people interested in working this coming holiday mailing season. USPS also has job openings across the Lakeland District, which covers most of Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Attendees will meet postal officials, who will provide firsthand information and descriptions of job openings that are currently available and need to be filled. Computers will be available for potential applicants to submit their applications online. This event is free and open to the public.

  • Postal Support Employee (PSE)
  • Casual Mail Handler

Lakeland District is accepting applications for:

  • City Carrier Assistant (CCA)
  • Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) 
  • Tractor Trailer Operator (TTO)
  • Mail Handler Assistant (MHA) 
  • Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)
  • Motor Vehicle Operator
  • Postal Support Employee (PSE) 
  • Postmaster Relief (PMR)
  • Automotive Technician

Background:

The Postal Service employs close to 15,000 people in the Lakeland District.

Entry level positions include training and can lead to long-term careers within the Postal Service. There are numerous vacancies available now and more coming soon. This is an excellent opportunity to work for the most trusted government agency in the country.

Postal officials with work experience in the jobs available will assist applicants by answering their questions and helping them find the right position that aligns with their career goals and skills. Multiple computer stations will allow applicants to gain more insights into employment with USPS, create a USPS profile and take the on-line assessment at the same time.
