DAVIS JUNCTION, IL – For the first and only time this century, Davis Junction’s zip code 61020 will match the date on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.  This occasion is known in U. S. Postal Service circles as “Zip Code Meets Date.”  The Davis Junction Post Office, located at 402 W. Chicago Ave, is celebrating and offering a special “Date Cancellation” to commemorate the event. 

The Davis Junction Post Office is open 8:00am until 11:30am and 12:30pm until 3:00pm.    

 “We are honored to serve Davis Junction and be a proud member of this community,” said Davis Junction Officer-In-Charge Cynthia Munoz.  “We welcome customers to stop by Wednesday and join us in celebrating this unique event in our town”.

Residents and businesses are invited to bring their own postcards, letters or purchase an envelope from the Davis Junction Post Office and have it stamped with a dated cancellation to mark the occasion. Specially made 61020 cookies will be available for customers to enjoy.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
