Illinois 2 District mail carriers keep up the pace ahead of the holiday season
Illinois 2 District (604 – 629) — If out at the mailbox rises a clatter, household should not worry to see what’s the matter. The jingle and jangle are not the sounds of Santa getting any early start. Instead, it’s your neighborhood letter carrier making their rounds as early as 6:00 AM and as late as 8:00 PM to ensure your packages are delivered right “in the nick of time.”
To keep our promise to deliver the best holiday for you and your loved ones, our carriers will be delivering early mornings and late evenings in many communities throughout Illinois 2 district. To help keep your letter carrier safe, we ask you keep your porch light on, especially if you notice mail has not yet been delivered.
As the hustle and bustle of the holiday season gains momentum, the Postal Service wants to keep up the pace.
The holidays are a time people send their best well wishes and seasons tidings sealed in greeting cards and wrapped snug in boxes to extended family and friends. Rest assured, this is our season and we have prepared all year to deliver certainty and continuity this holiday, and that means starting early in the morning.
