PEORIA IL — It’s a rare occurrence, about once every 100 years when the ZIP Code™ matches the date. That is the case Thursday, when the date of 6/15/23 aligns with the Chillicothe Post Office ZIP Code™ of 61523.

Chillicothe Post Office is celebrating Zip Code Day on Thursday, 6/15/23.  Activities will take place inside the post office as well as on the postal lawn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Chillicothe postal employees and Customer Relations team will be on hand to greet customers and assist as needed.  Mr. Zip, a postal favorite, will also greet customers.  Refreshments will be available inside the post office lobby.

Kim Reynolds, Customer Relations Coordinator said, “This will be the day that Date Meets Zip for Chillicothe 61523.”  Reynolds said that outgoing customer mail can be cancelled upon request with a Zip Code Day Commemorative cancellation, and souvenir stamped envelopes will be available for purchase while supplies last.

The Chillicothe Post Office is located at 1114 N. 2nd Street.
