Truck Drivers, Mechanics

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Postal Service is seeking individuals with a valid driver’s license (CDL) to fill several Tractor Trailer Operator (TTO) vacancies. USPS also is seeking Automotive Technicians who can perform routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles used in the postal fleet.

TTO applicants must have a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger vehicles. The job also requires one year of full-time unsupervised experience (or equivalent) driving a 7-ton or larger truck, tractor-trailer, or a 16-passenger or larger bus.  The driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide.

The Automotive Technician troubleshoots and diagnoses complex vehicle malfunctions using a variety of computerized test equipment. Ability to make major repairs to automotive components or systems refers to a proficiency in overhauling or rebuilding automotive systems or their components, such as power train, engine, fuel delivery, suspension, and braking systems.

Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger. Starting salary is $47,471 a year paid bi-weekly. The deadline for applications is May 11, 2021.
