USPS to host Job Fair in Fort Wayne

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The U.S. Postal Service is hosting a job fair at the Fort Wayne Ivy Tech Main Campus on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All COVID safety guidelines will be observed including face coverings and social distancing.

The Postal Service currently has vacancies for city carrier assistants (CCA), rural carrier associates (RCA) assistant rural carrier (ARC – Sunday and Holiday Package Delivery) Postal Support Employee (PSE) processing clerks and mail handler assistants (MHA).

To assist potential applicants, USPS personnel will be on-site to provide detailed information about the positions and answer questions. Starting pay for City Carrier Assistant is $18.51 per hour, for Rural Carrier Associate is $19.06 per hour, for Assistant Rural Carrier $19.06 per hour, for PSE Mail Processing Clerk $18.69 per hour and for Mail Handler Assistants $16.87 per hour paid bi-weekly. The Postal Service also has several career positions available. Tractor trailer operators (TTO) — $23.74 per hour, automotive technicians — $47,471 per year, and Motor Vehicle Operators (MVO) — $23.34 per hour.

Applicants for driving positions must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger. In addition, applicants for career positions TTO and MVO must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) from the state in which they live.

Rural carrier positions may require the use of applicant’s own personal vehicle which must be suitable for use. Rural carrier associates must be available to work on an as-needed basis.

Most non-career positions have possible career tracks with great health and retirement benefits.

Applicants for all USPS positions must be a United States citizen, a lawful permanent resident alien, a citizen of American Samoa or any other territory owing allegiance to the United States.

Attendees may bring their own laptops or devices loaded with their own wi-fi or hot spot (Internet service not provided by Postal Service). We will assist as much as possible with creating a candidate profile and searching for vacancies.
