MILTON, IN — The Milton Post Office, 307 S. Central Ave., Milton, IN 47357, is temporarily closed due to an early morning fire.

Customers may retrieve PO Box mail and access retail services at the Cambridge City Post Office, located at 227 W. Main St., Cambridge City, IN 47327.  Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  The Cambridge City Post Office is located 2.3 miles from the Milton Post Office.

Street delivery for Milton customers is not affected.

Currently, there is no information on a reopening date.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
