HAMMOND, IN – On Tuesday and Wednesday, February 6 and 7, the Postal Service will conduct a passport fair for people planning to travel to Canada, Mexico and overseas. Passport hours at the Purdue University Northwest, Union/Library Building, 2233 171st Street, Hammond, IN 46323 will be 11am – 1pm for the event.
“We’re here to help our customers as they prepare to travel the world,” says Hammond Postmaster Talena Franks-Cummings. “We make getting a passport easy and convenient with a one-stop shop solution,” she explained.
To apply for a passport book or passport card for the first time, applicants need proof of U.S. citizenship in the form of a certified copy of their birth certificate issued by the city, county or state, or a certificate of citizenship or a naturalization certificate. Applicants will also need a valid form of front and back photo identification, and must submit a photocopy of identification, such as a current valid driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID. Payments can be made by cash or check.
