What:

The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to Swayzee addresses, announcing a proposed relocation of the Swayzee, IN, Main Post Office, previously located at 111 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN 46986. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Who:

USPS Real Estate Specialist Dawn Moore

Background:

Due to severe uncorrectable safety concerns of the former facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within two (2) miles of the former facility. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following: (a) an existing building, approximately 700+/- net square feet with 10 dedicated parking stalls or (b) vacant land to lease, approximately 11,000 square feet, to accommodate a modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the Greentown, IN, Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

We are inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the following address within 45 days from delivery of the postcard: United States Postal Service, ATTN: Swayzee IN Main Post Office Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
