Proposed Relocation of Greenwood Downtown Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Greenwood, IN, Downtown Post Office located at 345 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to landlord’s nonrenewal of the lease, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location up to five (5) miles of the former location. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following:
(a) an existing building, approximately 2,700 – 8,300 square feet, with dedicated parking or (b) land site purchase, approximately two (2) acres, to build a new postal-owned facility. The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location.

We are inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the following address within 45 days from delivery of the postcard: United States Postal Service, ATTN: Greenwood IN, Downtown DLU Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
