The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Larwill, IN, Main Post Office previously located at 101 West Main Street, Larwill, IN 46764. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to structural concerns of the former facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within two (2) miles of the former location. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following: (a) an existing building, approximately 700 square feet, with dedicated parking or (b) land site to lease, approximately 8,500 square feet, in which the Postal Service can bring in a postal-owned modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the Columbia City, IN, Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
