What:

The U.S. Postal Service has mailed a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Lafayette, IN, Downtown Station post office located at 230 N 4th Street Side, Lafayette, IN, 47901. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to the unexpected loss of leasehold at this facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within the 47901 Zip Code. The desired size of the new facility needs to be an existing building to lease, approximately 1,100 square feet, with dedicated parking.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current facility until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
