Background:

Due to space constraints at the current facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within the 46131 ZIP Code. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following:

  1. Retain and renovate the existing building for delivery operations only and relocate the retail services to an approximately 2,000 SF building with designated parking, or
  2. Retain the existing building as a retail only post office and relocate delivery operations to an existing building, or land (2 acres) to construct a new building that is approximately 10-12,000 SF with parking, or
  3. Relocation of full postal operations to a new construction, or leased, building approximately 13,000 SF with designated parking.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

We are inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the following address within 45 days from delivery of the postcard: United States Postal Service, ATTN: Franklin, IN, Main Office Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
