What:

The U.S. Postal Service is mailing a postcard to the Toronto KS addresses, announcing a proposed relocation of the Post Office previously located at 110 W Main Street, Toronto, KS 66777-9998. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to safety concerns with the building, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail services to a yet-to-be-determined location within three miles of the 110 W Main Street location. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following: (a) lease an existing building that is about 990 gross SF with 11+ parking or b) find land to lease that is about 11,000 SF to allow for a new postal owned modular building to be constructed outside of the 100-year flood plain.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the Yates Center KS Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
