Proposed Relocation of Mahaska KS Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will send out a postcard for the Mahaska Post Office located at 212 N Main St., Mahaska KS 66955-9998.

Background:

Due to a potential loss of lease, the Postal Service is now looking for a new potential relocation of retail service to a yet-to-be-determined location within two miles of the 212 N Main St. location. The Postal Service will be considering the following options: a) leasing an existing building of about 1,550 SF with 12+ parking space, b) lease land of about 10,000 to 15,000 SF to place a postal owned modular building, c) Purchase land of about 15,000 SF for a new building, or d) smaller retail only facility of 675 SF and 9+ parks.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current location until the lease expires or temporarily relocated until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
