The United States Postal Service will host a behind-the-scenes tour of holiday operations at the Louisville P&DC.

The Postal Service is preparing for the holidays and is ready to meet the growing customer demand for package delivery. Last year’s holiday season was like no other for both USPS and its customers. Package delivery grew nearly 48 percent, driven by the surge in online shopping and ecommerce due to the COVID pandemic. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the Postal Service delivered a record 1.1 billion packages.

This is a unique opportunity to see how mail is processed. The tour will be led by postal officials. Holiday handout information will include tips about the best ways to ship cards, letters, and packages during the holidays.

As part of the 10-year plan to achieve financial sustainability and service excellence called Delivering For America, the Postal Service is investing $40 billion in people, technology and equipment to modernize its operations and provide a world class service to customers.

Media may park in the main office customer/visitor lot. USPS representatives will meet you at the doors on the left of the main entrance (opposite the customer retail lobby).

Please be aware proper footwear is required. Shoes should be fully enclosed at the heel, toe, and sides and be made of leather or substantial synthetic material.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its.
