SPARTA, KY – The Postal Service will temporarily close the Sparta Post Office due to damage caused by fire spreading from a nearby parked tractor trailer. Sparta customers may access mail and obtain retail services at the Sanders Post Office, approximately six miles from the Sparta Post Office.

The Sanders Post Office is located at 14150 KY-36 E, Sanders, KY 41083. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 12:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., and Saturdays, 9:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Currently, there is no information on a reopening date for the Sparta Post Office.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
