Four Eastern Kentucky Post Offices Reopen

Operations resume

LOUISVILLE, KY – Four additional post offices in eastern Kentucky reopened this week after severe flooding impacted postal operations this summer.

Renovations are now complete and retail transaction have resumed at the following locations:

  • Garrett Post Office
    430 Front St.
    Garrett, KY 41630
    Monday-Friday: 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Saturday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Lackey Post Office
    235 KY Route 7
    Lackey, KY 41643
    Monday-Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
    Saturday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Virgie Post Office
    1070 KY Hwy 610 W
    Virgie, KY 41572
    Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Wayland Post Office
    2617 King Kelly Coleman Hwy
    Wayland, KY 41666
    Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
