Louisville Mail Processing Plant is Ready for the Holidays

Media Open House: Louisville Processing and Distribution Center

The U.S. Postal Service will host a behind-the-scenes tour of holiday operations at the Louisville Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC). The Postal Service is built for the holidays with affordable, reliable shipping services to help its customers send more joy this season.

This is a rare opportunity to see how the mail is processed. It will feature a tour led by postal officials along with holiday tips about the best ways to ship mail and packages during the holidays.

The ongoing transformation of the Postal Service through the Delivering for America Plan includes a modernized delivery network to better serve its customers this holiday season and beyond. The Postal Service is ready to deliver for the holidays:

  • No holiday surcharges for mailing or shipping this holiday season
  • Hiring 10,000 employees for Peak Season
  • Deploying more than 348 new package sorting machines
  • Increased daily processing capacity to approximately 70 million
  • Moving 95% of volume via more reliable ground transportation
  • New Shipping Solution – USPS Ground Advantage
