ASHLAND, KY – Ashland Supervisor, Customer Services Joseph Bailey and Acting Supervisor, Customer Services Tyler Harton recently received the Patriot Award for their efforts to support employees who serve in the National Guard. The awards were presented by the Cheryl Spriggs, Kentucky Area chair, Support of Guard and Reserve.

Ashland Letter Carrier Austin Terry, a member of the Marine Corps Reserve, nominated Bailey and Harton.

“It’s a blessing and an honor to receive this award. As a military veteran myself I know what these young men and women sacrifice serving our country. Ty and I try and facilitate anything that makes it easier on them to do so,” said Supervisor, Customer Services Joe Bailey.

Acting Supervisor, Customer Services Tyler Harton echoed that sentiment, adding, “I have the upmost respect for all military members and veterans and am proud to assist them in any way I can.”

The Patriot Award is administered through the Department of Defense and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a military agency. The prestigious award honors supervisors who provide flexible schedules, give employees time off before and after they are deployed, and grant leaves of absence when needed.
