Proposed Relocation of Murray, KY Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will be mailing a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Murray, KY Main Post Office located at 1105 Chestnut Street, Murray, KY 42071. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to severe space deficiency at the current location, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within the 42071 ZIP Code. The desired size of the new facility needs to be an existing building either, approximately 2,700 square feet (for a retail operation only) or 9,500 square feet (for retail and delivery operations), with dedicated parking. The postal Service will also evaluate expanding the current facility, including additional parking to accommodate operations to stay in place.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location.

We are inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the following address within the next 45 days from delivery of the postcard: United States Postal Service, ATTN: Murray, KY Main Post Office Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
