Proposed Relocation Hueysville, KY, Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service has mailed a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Hueysville, KY, Post Office, previously located at 85 Salt Lick Creek, Hueysville, KY 41640. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to damage from flooding at the former facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within a two (2) mile radius of the former facility. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following:

(a) an existing building, approximately 700 square feet, with dedicated parking or (b) a vacant land site to lease, approximately 8,500 square feet, in which the Postal Service can bring in a postal-owned modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Hueysville customers may continue to access Retail Services at the Garrett Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
