Proposed Relocation for Falls of Rough, KY, Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Falls of Rough, KY, Post Office previously located at 13647 Falls of Rough Rd, Falls of Rough, KY. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to severe uncorrectable safety issues at the former facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within the 40119 ZIP Code. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following:

(a) an existing building, approximately 1,800 square feet, with dedicated parking, or
(b) a vacant land site to lease, approximately 14,500 square feet, in which the Postal Service can bring in a postal-owned modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Falls of Rough customers may continue to access Retail Services at the McDaniels Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
