Proposed relocation of the Waddy, KY, Post Office

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to the impacted community, announcing a proposed relocation of the Waddy, KY, Post Office, located at 3100 Waddy Road, Waddy, KY 40076. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Background:

Due to severe space constraints at the current facility, the Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within the 40076 ZIP Code. The desired size of the new facility needs to be one of the following:

(a) an existing building, approximately 2,200 square feet, with dedicated parking, or
(b) a vacant land site to lease, approximately 15,000 square feet, in which the Postal Service can bring in a postal-owned modular building.

The Postal Service will also explore expanding the existing building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.
