Eunice, LA — The U.S. Postal Service is committed to providing a world-class experience for our customers. Today, we are providing this update for customers served by the Eunice Post Office, located at 250 Laurel Ave, Eunice, LA 70535.
On September 20, a temporary suspension of operations at the Eunice Post Office was announced. A timeline for resumption of full services has not been established. In the interest of providing convenience to Eunice customers during this time, the Postal Service is implementing a solution.
Beginning Monday, September 30, 2019, all retail services and P.O. Box services will be completed out a modular unit, which has been placed in the rear parking lot area of the Eunice Post Office. P.O. Boxes will be accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Customers no longer need to travel to the Lawtell Post Office to obtain services or pick up mail.
Retail Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Sunday Closed
Mail delivery for customers in the 70535 ZIP Code will continue to be made out of the Opelousas Post Office. Customers should see no change in their mail delivery service. Any packages for which a letter carrier leaves a “Left Notice” slip will be available for pick up the following business day at the temporary modular unit at the Eunice Post Office.
All customers are required to have one valid form of ID to pick up their key for their temporary P.O. Box. Forms of valid ID include, driver’s license and passport. Only one key will be given out per P.O. Box, due to the temporary status of the arrangements.
The Postal Service apologizes for any inconvenience customers may experience. We will provide additional updates to customers as we work to restore operations at the Eunice Post Office.
Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s website www.usps.com to get the location of additional nearby Post Offices and approved postal retail service providers.
