Manages USPS Services in Ashland, Hall Summit and Powhatan
COUSHATTA, LA – "I'm the new Postmaster and respect this organization and its employees and management team more every day," says Coushatta Postmaster Brandi Mangham.
"I live in Castor, about 20 miles from here but grew up in Hall Summit. One of my Remotely Managed Post Offices (RMPO) is in Hall Summit, so I still serve the community I grew up in," she says with a smile.
Her postal career began in 2018 as a postal support employee (PSE) clerk at Hall Summit and was converted to a part-time flexible (PTF) clerk position a year later when she started working at Coushatta.
"In October of 2022, due to our Postmaster's sudden passing, I became the Officer In Charge of Coushatta," she explains of her career. "When the Postmaster position came open, I applied. I am blessed to have this opportunity, and I pray I serve the Postal Service proudly."
Mangham comes to the Postmaster position with a lot of business background. "My husband and I have operated several businesses over the past 20 years."
These days, she is responsible for six rural routes, two part-time flex clerks, and three RMPOs – Ashland, Hall Summit and Powhatan – with one clerk each.
"I chose to work at the Postal Service because my three boys were all in school, and I needed to do something different," she says.
She says she has noticed a significant uptick in package volume over her years with USPS. "We talk about 'Delivering for America' here at work. To me, it means customer service. My biggest goal and primary focus are the customer and what we as a team can do to serve them better."
When not working, Mangham, her husband of 21 years, and their sons like to travel to the Ozarks in Arkansas. "We love to camp, hunt, and spend time together."
"Becoming a postal employee and then applying to be named Postmaster are two decisions I am thankful for," she says.
