Manages USPS Retail & Delivery Services for Lutcher
LUTCHER, LA – Arriving in Lutcher with a wealth of experience, Postmaster Ashley Asevado Robin says she owes a lot to the former St. Bernard Postmaster Carla Meaux. "She needed a Postmaster Relief for her office.
"I was young (19) and still searching for the right career," she recalls. “I decided to apply and see what would happen, and I got the job.”
“She taught me everything about a small office, and I loved it,” said Robin. “I knew I wanted to grow with the company.”
Robin also served as Officer In Charge in Meraux, Metairie, and Destrehan Post Offices before being promoted to Postmaster. In Lutcher, she has two carriers and one clerk.
"Becoming Postmaster has been the most rewarding position because it has defiantly allowed me to take complete control of a station and help it for the better," says Robin.
Throughout the years, she has also served as safety captain, Combined Federal Campaign Coordinator, and with National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive. "I also volunteer at the Women’s Battered Shelter and am part of a Co-Ed Cabbage Ball Team where we play in fundraisers."
She says she has watched the Postal Service grow with technology. "I love the features that Informed Delivery offers, so customers can see what mail they are going to receive before it is delivered.”
“As we look to the future, our Delivering for America plan leverages technology to provide world-class visibility and tracking of mail and packages in near real-time,” she added.
"I have a wonderful husband, Jonathan. We have been married for eight years. We have a fur baby name Marty," she says with a smile. "I also enjoy my two godchildren and my nephew.”
"I feel very fortunate at such a young age to find the right fit for my career," she says. "I made the right decision."
