Ready to serve the Mansfield and Grand Cane communities
MANSFIELD, LA — "When I was young, I always saw the mailman and dreamed of one day being one," says newly-appointed Mansfield, LA, Postmaster Kevin Leszcynski. "I've been with Postal Service for nearly 30 years. I began as a letter carrier in Winamac, IN, in 1995."
Before USPS, Leszcynski was in the Army stationed in Kansas, West Germany, and Germany. He also served in the Indiana National Guard for 27 years until he retired.
Leszcynski worked as a supervisor of customer services at several post offices after carrying mail for 18 years. He now supervises 20 employees in Mansfield. He also manages the nearby Grand Cane Post Office.
"I entered the Postal Service before automation like DPS (Delivery Point Sequence) was active," he says. "Additionally, I have seen the implementation of scanners and other programs that have helped the USPS."
"I chose the Postal Service because of the opportunities," he says. “I knew it was a good job with benefits like retirement."
Currently living with his elderly parents to help them with day-to-day things, he also has two grown children: a son and a daughter.
"I'm an avid snowboarder and have recently received my ‘Open Water’ certification in scuba diving. I travel whenever possible and love exploring things I've never tried."
"I am looking forward to serving the Mansfield and Grand Cane residents, making sure they receive the best in customer service," he says. “That’s what the Postal Service does best – delivering for America.”
