Wildfire Prompts Temporary Suspension of Three Beauregard Parish Post Offices: Evans, Merryville and Singer

The Tiger Island fire started Tuesday and is 50 percent contained

BEAUREGARD PARISH, LA — The Tiger Island fire in Beauregard Parish has prompted the temporary suspension of several post offices.

Due to mandatory evacuations and safety concerns, retail and delivery operations have been temporarily suspended at the following locations:

Evans Post Office
19158 Highway 111
Evans, LA 70639

Merryville Post Office
3035 Highway 110 W
Merryville, LA 70653

Singer Post Office
9068 Highway 27
Singer, LA 70660


In the interim, customers at these offices can retrieve packages and mail, including Post Office Box mail, with proper ID and obtain retail services at the DeRidder Post Office, 116 E. 4th St., DeRidder, LA 70634.

Retail hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and closed Sunday.

The Postal Service regrets any inconvenience to its customers and will work to restore operations for these offices as soon as possible.
