Edward Novak becomes the city’s new Postmaster
MOREAUVILLE, LA – Newly-appointed Moreauville, LA (71355) Postmaster Edward Novak II says he is excited to serve the community. He knows his 11 employees working across four units will continue to do their best for their customers.
"I have the pleasure of leading a team of great employees. I can support and assist the other postmasters in the area while also being able to gain their assistance in return," he says. "My team allows me to help other postmasters with technical expertise as needed.”
During his 10-year career, Novak has been a letter carrier, city carrier assistant, supervisor of customer services, officer-in-charge, and the former postmaster of Jonesville, LA. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force for six years. Novak’s brother, Jason, serves as Postmaster in Simmesport, LA (71369).
"There are many reasons I first applied for a postal position, one of which is because of the opportunities around the country and the diverse array of career options," he explains.
In only 10 years, he says, a lot has changed, including updates in delivery technology and transparency changes in organizational structure and responsibilities.
"As a postmaster for a small community, we Deliver for America by working closely with customers to help move their mail efficiently and with a personalized touch," he says.
In addition to the Moreauville Post Office, Novak also oversees post offices in Bordelonville (71320), Hamburg (71339), and Plaucheville (71362).
When he is not at the post office, he says he enjoys reading, collecting books, traveling, and is a weekend getaway enthusiast.
"I appreciate the opportunities the Postal Service has given me," he says. "I am looking forward to getting to know the citizens of Moreauville."
