USPS Update on Postal Operations

LOUISIANA — The Louisiana District of the U.S. Postal Service is announcing that normal hours of operation have resumed at the Cameron Post Office and Hackberry Post Office. The retail and P.O. Box operations at the Barataria, Grand Isle, and Lafitte Post Offices are temporarily suspended due to Tropical Storm Francine.

Effective immediately, Sept. 12, 2024, P.O. Box customers of these temporarily suspended Post Offices may pick up their P.O. Box mail and left-noticed items at the designated Post Offices. 

Delivery service is not affected and will continue uninterrupted where it is safe. Customers with regular street delivery will pick up packages or other accountable items at the designated Post Offices, effective Thursday, Sept. 12.

The U.S. Postal Service apologizes for this inconvenience to our customers. More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available. Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s website, www.usps.com, to get the location of other nearby Post Offices and approved postal retail service providers.
